This Sunday (Feb. 26th) I’m playing soul, reggae, world, and psych records at The Charleston!
I’ve been enjoying making little still life “flyers” to promote my DJ nights, and was SO happy with this collaboration with Carson Fisk-Vittori.
I’ve been thinking a lot about DJing as curating, instead of shows, they’re events, instead of artworks, their songs. The night becomes a stringing together of melodies throughout the course of night. As the night goes on, it reminds me of painting—moments of peaks and valleys, and above all the surprise of the audience’s reaction.
I’m not sure yet how this all affects my art practice, but it feels very important to me right now.
